Call it human tendency, and more troubles by temptations, then follows greed for abundance.

And Allah (SWT) says:

"Now whatever ye have been given is but a passing comfort for the life of the world, and that which Allah hath is better and more lasting for those who believe and put their trust in their Lord" (Holy Qur’an: Chapter 42; v. 36)

And, indeed, Hereafter life is lasting.

I guess your quote should read like this:

"Of mankind many allow the pleasures of this world to burden their Hereafter (life)".

Sorry for the correction.:)

Masha'Allah, a quote of such truth, ukhti.

For how ironic, that such belittled means of ease that once fulfilled the inner desires, will one day turn out to be the very thing that a man will grow to loath.

Well said by umm thameenah...indeed so ironic, it's paradox, that we forget that this world is "abode of trials", and in vain we toil hard, risking our Hereafter life.

So, to be unaware of reality, or to misunderstand it, leads to deviation from the truth.
